Background:

For the first time, NYC will experience what is common practice in Germany and all over Europe:

Zum Schneider, the cult Biergarten on Ave C, is organizing what they call in Germany an "open air" “public viewing”. On June 26th, July 4th & 5th (quarter finals) and July 13th (final), the event space called Solar One right by the East River @ East 23rd St will be turned into an OPEN AIR FAN ZONE. While the screening of the games on an 12x16 ft (3.5m x 6m) LED screen will be the main attraction, the riverside will be transformed into an energy-charged open air fan zone, with extensive decorations, live entertainment, incl. live music, samba rhythms, and DJs playing soccer anthems, creating a true World Cup atmosphere.

German Bratwurst, Pretzels, Brazilian churrasco and more will be served alongside world class German/Bavarian beer and soft drinks.

We are showing ALL World Cup games at Zum Schneider, except for the outdoor screenings. During these "public viewings" at Solar One, our restaurant will be closed, but re-open in the evening. For more information and a complete schedule please visit nyc.zumschneider.com
