March 27th, 2015: Our dear friend and manager Micha Gerland lost his home and with it everything, at the fire on 2nd Ave on March 26th. We're trying to assist him to get a new start. You can donate to him and his roommates on this page, or in person at the bar. Thank you for your participation. Let's be grateful that we have a home.

Seasonal lent beers on TAP

Paulaner Salvator
Lentenbock. Hazel colored, caramelly and finely hopped. 7.9% alc.

Hacker-Pschorr Fastenbock
Lentenbock. light and amber, smooth texture, light taste. 5.8% alc.

After the turbulent Karneval festivities that have their roots in the believe to drive away the demons of winter, the time of lent starts. Hundreds of years ago, the Bavarian monks have started brewing an especially potent beer called "Fastenbock" (Lentenbock), to make up for the lack of nutrition during the time of fasting. This "liquid bread" is offered at Zum Schneider right now.

Enjoy our seasonal winter menu with items like Schwammerlragout or Züricher Geschnetzeltes plus our daily specials such as Rouladen or Sauerbraten and warm up with a cup of Glühwein (mulled wine) or a mug of Andechs Doppelbock.
